inventory locally in ShipBob’s Australia fulfillment, you are able to easily reduce shipping costs and transit times.

Shipping Times & Carriers

Choose between standard or expedited shipping options. The average transit time to all of Australia is 1-7 business days. We partner with Australia Post and Aramex for shipments within Australia. We also use Australia Post for shipments from Australia to 200+ destinations. 

Customs, Duties, & Freight

Along with customs, duties, and becoming a non-resident importer, ShipBob will walk you through the process of sending freight to our Australian fulfillment center. We'll work with your current carrier or freight partners, or you can leverage ShipBob's relationships with cross-border freight specialists.

Where we're located

Our upcoming European fulfillment centers will be located in the United Kingdom and Germany, and will complement our existing fulfillment center in Kilkenny, Ireland. The facilities will run on ShipBob’s warehouse management system to provide merchants with the same level of world-class fulfillment and transparency.

Shipping Times & Carriers

In Europe, standard delivery times are generally between 2-5 days for standard & 1-3 days for expedited. UPS & DHL are currently ShipBob’s carriers in the EU, and we will be adding many more in early Q1 2021.

When shipping across Europe, you’re dealing with many countries, each with their own rules and regulations. ShipBob will help you navigate the complexity every step of the way through VAT, customs, duties, and freight options for your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the import fee to Ireland?

Ireland applies EU tariffs (customs duties) which are based on the international Harmonized System (HS) of product classification. Duty rates on manufactured goods from the United States generally range from 5-8% and are usually based on the c.i.f. value of the goods at the port of entry. The c.i.f. value is the price of the goods (usually the sales price) plus packing costs, insurance, and freight charges to the port of entry.

Are there importing Tariffs?

Yes. Merchants will have to pay tariffs/customs/duties when importing into the EU.

What is VAT?

VAT (Value Added Tax) is a form of consumption tax. All 28 European countries have VAT. It has different names in different countries (e.g., in France, it is TVA, in Spain it’s IVA, and Germany is MwSt). Each country also applies its own VAT rate. VAT collected on online sales is a key source of revenue for any government. VAT in Ireland is 23% and the rest of Europe varies from 17% to 27%.

Can we process returns through our EU FC?

Yes. Note: This only applies to returns whose order originated in and shipped from the EU.

Do I need to create multiple accounts for my ecommerce store?

Yes, you will need an EU site for your ecommerce store. Read more

Should merchants include VAT in the cost goods sold?

Yes, you should include the VAT in the cost of goods sold.

European FAQs

What are the cost savings per order to a Canadian customer compared with an international shipment from the US to Canada?

This depends on the average size/weight of your orders. The main benefits are: 1) Not having to go through customs 2) Shorter time in transit.

Can we do internal transfers from the US to Canada?

Yes, we can do internal transfers from a ShipBob fulfillment center if through our exclusive freight and customs broker. If we are sending parcel, the merchant must purchase labels separately and add the tracking number to a WRO.

Will ShipBob automatically fulfill orders placed by Canadian customers?

Yes, we will automatically fulfill orders from Canada to Canadian customers. Note: If you don’t have inventory in Canada we will fulfill your orders from our US fulfillment centers that have inventory available.

Can we process returns through the Canadian FC?

Yes, but we can only process returns that were originally shipped from our Canada facility (not those originating from other countries).

Do I need a .ca website to ship in Canada?
